Functional Neurological Disorder
Functional neurological disorder or FND is a condition where neurological or nervous system symptoms are experienced that cannot be explained by a neurological disease or other medical condition. Symptoms can include weakness, movement disorder, sensory symptoms, tremor and blackouts.
Symptoms can be similar to other neurological conditions however the underlying cause is different. In FND, the wiring of the nervous system is intact, but there is a problem with how the brain/nervous system is sending and receiving signals.
