Equipment Description

The Flood Detector is a small round unit which when it senses water, triggers an audible alarm and sends an alert through a base/home unit to a monitoring centre, helping to prevent serious flooding. The sensor can be positioned anywhere on the floor near an item that runs a risk of flooding (e.g. sink/toilet/bath). If, for example, the bath water is left running and the bath starts to overflow then the detector senses water and triggers both an audible alarm and an alarm call to the Monitoring Centre. The audible alarm can be a sufficient reminder to the person to turn off the flow of water but the Monitoring Centre will also confirm with the person that the flood has been stopped. FEATURES: This product has an approximate diameter of 9cm (3 ½”). NOTE: It is best to position the unit where it cannot be knocked or kicked out of the way and do not position near the wet area of a level access shower.
