Description

The Sazo GPS is a location safety device that can also be used for speech, it is designed to help the carier to keep in touch with family members, allow parents to protect their children and enable employers to administer remote workers. This unit can give people the freedom to go out and about without themselves or the family being concerned about them, for instance those who jog alone or go on a boat alone. It makes use of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology which is a navigation system involving satellites and computers to determine the position of the unit, just like a satellite navigation system determines the position of a vehicle. Users anywhere in Britain can be located in real time, to within a maximum accuracy of up to 5 metre, but only from an authorised mobile phone, Internet-enabled computer or web-enabled mobile device anywhere in the world. If the GPS signal is lost, the unit automatically memorises the last recorded position. The Sazo GPS can be used as a mobile phone for two-way voice communication across any mobile (GSM) network. Phone calls can be received from any phone number and the numbered buttons on the front of the unit can be set to dial specific numbers so that the person carrying the unit can call someone. There is a red HELP button on the unit which when pressed, triggers a text (SMS) message to all designated contacts. The text message includes the user's exact current position. In addition, the unit dials the numbers of all contacts sequentially until a response is received. This is all done almost immediately. This unit can also be set to store a predefined area that the user is safe to be out and about in, if the user moves out of that area the designated contacts are informed by text message. This is particularly helpful where someone has routine areas that they visit that are familiar and where they feel safe. A further safety feature is the ability to store the co-ordinates of predefined areas (geo-fences). The Sazo GPS has been designed so that it can be carried in a pocket or handbag (the length and width of the Sazo GPS are smaller than those of a credit card and its thickness is the same as that of a matchbox). It is supplied with a neck strap.
